Sketchnotes From Swipe Conference 2012

Yep, it’s conference season in Australia.

After getting back from UX Australia in Brisbane a week ago, I was off again last week—this time to Sydney for Swipe Conference 2012, which covers iOS and Mac design and development. It was a fantastic couple of days, and I got to mix with some of the brightest and most successful appreneurs and designers in the mobile space.

The conference goodie bag came with a Copic grey marker, which was perfect for adding some shading to the sketches. I’m pretty happy with how they turned out!

Amy Nelson & Meena Tharmarajah: Designing Play School Art Maker
Chris Van Raay & Brendan Devers: Australia Post Mobile Case Study
Martin Fowler & Stewart Gleadow: Evolving Mobile Architecture
Marc Edwards: Design Like A Machine
Matt Kelsh: Start Pixel-pushing For iOS
Troy Brant: Design & Development at Flipboard
Josh Clark: Where No Geek Has Gone Before
Russell Ivanovic: Navigating The App Review Process
Ben Hamey: Building 5-Star Apps
Jake MacMullin: Designing Accessible iOS Apps
Bill Tai: Shifting Opportunities & Advice From Top App Developers

There were some fantastic presentations, and I was pleased to see a healthy amount of attention paid to design and user experience; I’ll elaborate on some of them in a later post. In the meantime, I hope you like these sketches!
