“Great customer experiences start with a story – the right story.”
Donna Lichaw knows how to tell a good story. She’s built a business around helping organisations to optimise their digital products by teaching them to harness the power of impactful storytelling (or storymapping) to drive user engagement.
Donna’s ‘story first’ approach to can help with defining value proposition, transforming customer thinking, and engaging your audience.
We’re fortunate enough to have the opportunity to learn from Donna in our next Ask the UXperts Slack session, and it’s one that I’m greatly anticipating.
You can find out more about Donna’s work in her book: The User’s Journey: Storymapping Products That People Love

How to Ask Your Questions
If you can’t make the live session but have questions, we’d love to collect them ahead of time and we’ll ask Donna on your behalf. You can submit your questions here. We’ll publish the responses (along with the full transcript) in the days following the session.
Here are a few questions to get you thinking:
- What exactly is ‘story mapping’?
- How does it translate into a design process?
- What makes a ‘story first’ approach so powerful? Is it about harnessing emotion to create a connection to a product or is there more to it?
How does Ask the UXperts work?
These sessions run for approximately an hour and best of all, they don’t cost a cent. We use a dedicated public Slack channel. That means that there is no audio or video, but a full transcript will be posted up on here in the days following the session.
