Next in our series of Ask the UXperts sessions we’re chatting about something that deviates a little from the usual UX subjects that we discuss. I’m excited to be hosting Mick McGee, CEO and Co-founder of EchoUser, and he’ll be talking about something that he is passionate about – Designing for Any Experience.
Mick wants UXers to understand that design is bigger than a button on a webpage. It is about seeing design in other ways that we may not have thought about before. In his own words:
Designers need to constantly challenge themselves to look beyond the single product or service they may be tasked to improve. Their work needs to be put into the context of the environment in which people interact with the product, including all the potential touch points that can impact the user experience from discovery to the way we incorporate it into our daily lives.
Any Experiencce encompasses the importance of integrating thoughtful design into systems and processes as well as products, by dissecting and redesigning places and experiences that we have every day.
Ask the UXperts sessions run for approximately an hour and best of all, they don’t cost a cent. They are text based so there is no audio or video, but a full transcript will be posted up on uxmastery.com in the days following the session.
